Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. There's a new Top Ten list to answer every week to have fun with and a way to get to know your fellow bloggers!

This week's Top Ten list is:
Top Ten Books On My TBR List For Winter.

It's difficult for me to do a TBR list in a specific period because it depends on what I receive to be reviewed (that come first!) so, I suppose I should call it a "Temporary"" TBR List For Winter, huh? Anyway, here it is (books are in no particular order):

1. "The Haunted" by Jessica Verday

2. "The Hidden" by Jessica Verday

3. "Hit List" by Laurell K. Hamilton

4. "Shiver" by Maggie Stiefvater

5. "A Hunger Like No Other" by Kresley Cole

6. "Seducing The Succubus" by Cassie Ryan

7. "Poison Study" by Maria V. Snyder

8. "Covet" by J.R. Ward

9. "Dark Heart Forever" by Lee Monroe

10. "Entangled" by Cat Clarke

"Immortal Rider" by Larissa Ione

SERIES: Lords of Deliverance #2

GENRE: Paranormal Romance
SOURCE: Review copy received from the publisher
LINKS: Goodreads | Book Depository

Sexy, powerful and immortal, Limos is on a crash course with destiny. She's been marked as Satan's bride and her jealous fiancĂ© wants her all to himself. The only way this Horseman can keep herself—and everyone else—safe is to keep her distance. But not even Limos can save herself from the secrets she's kept... or resist the seductive allure of one very brave human. Arik Wagner knows the saying 'love hurts' better than most, yet he never thought stealing a kiss from Limos would land him in hell. Literally. It takes all his military training to survive the demon torture, but once he's topside, Arik realises that the agony has just begun. With the Apocalypse looming and Satan demanding his bride, will Arik and Limos surrender to the desire smouldering between them? Or will giving in to their passion unleash hell on earth?

When I read "Eternal Rider" my exact thought at the end of the book was that I had to read the whole series, because after a first instalment like that it couldn't be possible to be disappointed. But what I didn't think about was that a second book would have been even more amazing that the first one! Trust me when I say that a 5* rating doesn't make it justice!

Limos and Arik are a very beautiful couple, it's surely hard not to feel particularly touched by their story, but I have to say that her 'Satan's issue' is what really allures you more than anything else... A huge, painful, tormenting problem (especially after thousands of years) but one that can't keep the couple apart, and reading about how Limos and Arik try to "trick" the problem is something simply exciting!

Lots of secrets keep you intrigued as much as the reactions of the characters when they're revealed. But if you think your attention is all focused on these events and Limos's story you're very far from the truth... Saying Thanatos is spectacular would be the understatement of the year, but Gosh if he is so! From the very beginning I thougth he was the most intriguing Horsemen and I couldn't wait to read more about him. Now I can't stop having chills everywhere because of what I read here... So damned sexy, so you-can-do-to-me-anything-you-want!

Mystery, action, secrets, drama, love, sex, an imminent Apocalypse... Could you possibly wish more? Sure, a third book soon!

"Ecstasy Unveiled" by Larissa Ione

SERIES: Demonica #4

GENRE: Paranormal Romance
SOURCE: Review copy received from the publisher
LINKS: Goodreads | Book Depository

Lore, a Seminus half-breed demon, has been forced to act as his master's assassin. Now to earn his freedom and save his sister's life, he must complete one last kill. Powerful and ruthless, he'll stop at nothing to carry out this deadly mission. Idess is an earthbound angel sworn to protect the human Lore is targeting. She's determined to thwart her wickedly handsome adversary by any means necessary. But what begins as a simple seduction soon turns into all-consuming passion. Torn between duty and desire, Lore and Idess must join forces as they battle their attraction for each other. Because an enemy from the past is rising again—one hell-bent on vengeance and unthinkable destruction.

Intriguing story, checked. Action, checked. Hot brother, checked. Lore, Lore... I think I emanated a sigh every time he called Idess with one of the nicknames he gave her... *Sigh*... See? The only thought makes me sigh again... He's stunning and don't get this wrong, the other brothers are as well, but I think he's my fave!

Larissa Ione always knows how to make you dream about a character and sex is surely her biggest weapon. Here there are some moments of pure ecstasy you haven't experienced in this series before, but what if I tell you that sensuality is the real peculiarity of this instalment? And a very particular one that makes you read this book with a so big pleasure that everything around you disappears and you're alone with Lore, Idess and their powerful sexual tension... Even when the passion explodes it's all extremely sensual and your mind experiences the real ecstasy of the book!

Just like it happened with the first book, the only reason I didn't give a full 5 rating is because I see some things coming maybe too soon... But I can't help it, with this series even something like that can't bother me too much, it's really one of the best paranormal romance series I've ever read!

RATING: 4.5/5

"Brightest Kind of Darkness" by P.T. Michelle

SERIES: Brightest Kind of Darkness #1

PUBLISHER: Patrice Michelle
GENRE: YA Paranormal
SOURCE: Review copy received from the author
LINKS: Goodreads

Nara Collins is an average sixteen-year-old, with one exception: every night she dreams the events of the following day. Due to an incident in her past, Nara avoids using her special gift to change fate…until she dreams a future she can’t ignore. After Nara prevents a bombing at Blue Ridge High, her ability to see the future starts to fade, while people at school are suddenly being injured at an unusually high rate. Grappling with her diminishing powers and the need to prevent another disaster, Nara meets Ethan Harris, a mysterious loner who seems to understand her better than anyone. Ethan and Nara forge an irresistible connection, but as their relationship heats up, so do her questions about his dark past.

When the author sent me the request for a review of her book, the first thing that got my attention was the cover she attached by email. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL. But to be honest I wouldn't have expected the cover to reflect so perfectly the real book's soul. Covers can be tricky, you think they have a strong connection with the story (that would be their role after all), but sometimes after reading the book you find yourself pretty upset about them... Obviously this is not the case and I couldn't agree more with that beautiful image!

Having said that, the story intrigued me so much that I don't hide the fact that after the final scene I was in a desperate mood for a book two! Ok, I still am! The fact that I live in a place full of ravens (and very beautiful ones) surely helped me a lot to have a perfect vivid vison/dream about the whole story, but the "Final Destination" atmosphere is probably what I really loved the most. Its strong power permeate the book and it's what really kept my attention focused on the events. Thank God because Ethan with his charming attitude was distracting me too much... I loved the connection between him and Nara and the way they interacted, and I love even more the fact that under certain aspects Ethan is still a mysterious character... I think it's fascinating when you don't know all at once but you find out more and more book after book. Isn't it what keeps you desiring and dreaming so much about a character?

I'm very happy that P.T. Michelle contacted me and I thank her one more time for the opportunity to review her dreamy book, I just hope there will be a second instalment soon because the curiosity is killing me!

"Passion Unleashed" by Larissa Ione

SERIES: Demonica #3

GENRE: Paranormal Romance
SOURCE: Review copy received from the publisher
LINKS: Goodreads | Book Depository

Serena Kelley is an archaeologist and treasure hunter—and a weoman with a secret. Since she was seven, she's been keeper of a powerful charm that grants her healt and immortality... as long as she stays a virgin. But Serena isn't all that innocent. And when a dangerously handsome stranger brings her to the brink of ecstasy, she wonders if she's finally met the one man she cannot resist. Wraith is a Seminus demon with a death wish. But when an old enemy poisons him, he must find Serena and persuade her to give him the only know antidote in the universe—her charm. Yet, as she begins to surrender to his seductions and Wraith senses the cure is within his grasp, he realises a horrible truth: he's falling for the woman whose life he must take in order to save his own.

Have you ever felt like you're dying to know how the story you're reading is gonna end and so you can't wait to reach the last pages, but at the same time you wish the reading could last forever? Well, this pretty much sums up my reaction with "Passion Unleashed".

The whole Demonica series is based on sex and trust me, I have nothing to complain about that, especially thanks to Larissa Ione and her impeccable, hot, OMG-I-want-to-be-in-that-picture sex scenes, but in this book for me sex wasn't just a pure passion reading for mind and soul, it was something amazingly touching... Love, tenderness and sadness prevail over everything and made my heart throb more and more every page, every sentence... You have never seen Wraith so beautiful and never expected to feel so completely absorbed in the whole story. Every book of this great series has its charm and a very intriguing story, but this one has definitely something more, and that power is all in the sensations it gives.

I still have to read the last two books in the series, but for now I can say without a doubt that this is definitely the best instalment. The proof is that I can't stop thinking about it and I wanna reread everything just to be able to feel again that unbelievable explosion of emotions.

Top Ten Tuesday (#1)

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. There's a new Top Ten list to answer every week to have fun with and a way to get to know your fellow bloggers!

This week's Top Ten list is:
Top Ten Books That Have Been On My Shelf For The Longest But I've Never Read.

1. "Glass Houses" by Rachel Caine -> I've put this on top because a dear friend of mine always tries to push me reading it (and I mean it in a good way) and I don't think she knows how really she made me so damn curious about the Morganville series! But as much as I really wanna read it, I always find myself get into another book... But I swear I really do wanna read this first instalment!

2. "Entangled" by Cat Clarke -> You have no idea how I was happy to have this book at first! Then, I don't know why, I kept staring at it and without that urge to read it... Too bad, I know! :(

3. "Passion" by Lauren Kate -> I read the first two books. Did I love them? No. Did I like them? Uh. But do you know when you feel like you have to finish a series? This is the case... Ok, it was the case until my brain completely refused to keep reading it and I've been stuck since then!

4. "Incubus" by Carol Goodman -> This is one book that caught my attention because of the blurb and not the cover! Unusually intriguing, huh? That's why I have to find the time to read it!

5. "Divergent" by Veronica Roth -> Are you serious??? I know, I'm probably the last person in the world who hasn't read this one! -.- Truth is that I'm curious about it, but you know, sometimes you have to be in a specific mood to read a particular book, right? Well, apparently I'm not in the dystopian mood so often... *sigh* I'll try to do my best, promise!

6. "Moon Called" by Patricia Briggs -> Don't worry, I'm disappointed with myself for not picking it up yet...

7. "Poison Study" by Maria V. Snyder -> I haven't read it yet just because I have a "priority" list to follow but it's definitely one I care to read the most!

8. "Fantasy Lover" by Sherrilyn Kenion -> The main reason for not reading this before is that I'm scared it will be so good that then I will want to read all the others and that means time that unfortunately I don't have! :(

9. "A Hunger Like No Other" by Kresley Cole -> I love Mythology and I always had good vibrations from this book so, I'm pretty sure it won't disappoint me! ;)

10. "Black Swan Rising" by Lee Carroll -> I bought it because there was a 3x2 offer... Probably not the nicest thing to say of a book but truth is that I still can't figure if I like what I read on the blurb or not... But sometimes a book that doesn't particularly inspire you at first can be the best one in the end, right?

What about you? What books have been on your shelf for the longest but you've never read?

"Desire Unchained" by Larissa Ione

SERIES: Demonica #2

GENRE: Paranormal Romance
SOURCE: Purchased Paperback
LINKS: Goodreads | Book Depository

Runa Wagner never meant to fall in love with the sexy stranger but she couldn't resist the unbelievable passion that burned between them... a passion that died when she discovered his betrayal and found herself forever changed. Now, determined to make Shade pay for the transformation that haunts her, Runa searches for him—but ends up prisoner to his darkest enemy. A Seminus demon with a love-curse that threatens him with eternal torment, Shade hoped he'd seen the last of Runa and her irresistible charm. But when he wakes up in a dunk dungeon chained next to a mysteriously powerful Runa, he realises that her effect on him is more dangerous than ever. As their captor casts a spell that bonds them as lifemates, Shade and Runa must fight for their lives and their hearts—or succumb to a madman's evil plans.

Another great couple formed in this second book of the Demonica series, one of the sexiest I've ever read! The strong connection between Shade and Runa pervades the book and you can not feel that amazing fireworks explosion every time they're together. Their story is captivating and learning about Shade's curse definitely helped understand him better and appreciate him more compared to the other book. Don't get me wrong, I liked Shade in the first instalment, but knowing his story made me felt closer to him and I found his character really fascinating.

As much as I loved all the story, I have to do a little confession... I lavished a big part of my attention on another couple of characters whom surely have a minor space in the book, but certainly don't play an indifferent role in the big scheme... Kaynan and Gem have the capacity of making me feel every emotion possible: sadness, excitement, frustration, anger, love... And most of the times this feelings are mixed together all at once and that's the best part, the one that makes me love so much Larissa Ione and her amazing writing skills! That and the incredibly hot scenes she knows how to describe so damn well!

If you haven't started reading this series yet you should do it now, you have no idea what you're missing!

"First Grave on the Right" by Darynda Jones

SERIES: Charley Davidson #1

GENRE: Urban Fantasy
SOURCE: Review copy received from the publisher
LINKS: Goodreads | Book Depository

Private investigator Charlotte Davidson was born with three things: looks; a healthy respect for the male anatomy; and the rather odd job title of grim reaper. Since the age of five, she has been helping the departed solve the mysteries of their deaths so theu can cross over. Thus, when three lawyers from the same law firm are murdered, they come to her to find their killer. In the meantime, Charley's dealing with a being more powerful—and definitely sexier—than any spectre she's ever come across before. With the help of a pain-in-the-ass skip tracer, a dead pubescent gangbanger named Angel, and a lifetime supply of sarcasm, Charley sets out to solve the highest profile case of the year and discovers that dodging bullets isn't nearly as dangerous as falling in love.

When the UK Publisher sent me this book I didn't know what to expect, but their presentation was really intriguing and when I read "If you love TV Shows like Ghost Whisperer..." I thought it was surely something that I would have loved to read. And I really loved it! It's a very well written book, with action, suspance, mystery and sensuality, all great aspects that make this genre the one I particularly love.

Sometimes reading about a case can be boring after a while, but here we have more than one and all of them are interesting and involving and when you think the whole story is fascinating, you find that the characters are even more! Gosh, that mysterious man gives you serious goosebumps from the very beginning... His story is winning and trust me, very original! And what about Charley? She's one of the best heroines I read about until now and her best characteristic has nothing to do with her aspect or her power, it's her humour! There's no chapter in which you don't laugh several times and keep hoping that she doesn't stop talking because you're so into it. It's a kind of humour so refreshing and you really find yourself totally addicted to it.

It's a great first instalment and I'm waiting for the next book anxiously!

"Silence" by Becca Fitzpatrick

SERIES: Hush, Hush #3

PUBLISHER: Simon & Schuster Childrens Books
GENRE: YA Paranormal
SOURCE: Purchased Hardcover
LINKS: Goodreads | Book Depository

The noise between Patch and Nora is gone. They've overcome the secrets riddled in Patch's dark past, bridged two irreconcilable worlds and faced heart-wrenching tests of betrayal, loyalty and trust—and all for a love that will transcend the boundary between heaven and earth. Armed with nothing but their absolute faith in one another, Patch and Nora enter a desperate fight to stop a villain who holds the power to shatter everything they've worked for—and their love—forever.

I was terribly scared to read this book since my disappointment with the previous one, but my love for the first instalment, my faith to find back these beautiful characters, and of course my curiousity won on everything so, I gave to this third book a go sooner than I thought!

I'm very pleased to tell you that now we're talking! Nora is finally back on track with her strong personality and she wasn't tiresome at all. Maybe the only part a little bit annoying was the fact that there were some additions I did before her... But then she was under a lot of pressure because of her memory and many things to process at once so, I suppose I can close an eye on that after all. Anyway, I couldn't be happier to tell you that Patch is finally back that hot, sexy, flirting fallen angel we all fell in love with from the very beginning! It was a real pleasure reading about the Patch/Nora flirting moments with a hint of teasing that is always much appreciated and that makes their couple so charming and so enjoyable to read about. I can't help it, their moments are always the best part of the whole series, at least for me.

We all know that there will be a fourth book so, the end of this instalment wasn't a surprise, but I have to say that when I was at the last few chapters I thought it could have been a real good series finale... But then something happened that let you definitely wait for the fourth book so, here I am ready to start the countdown for what I hope it will be a great finale!

"Pyxis" by K.C. Neal

SERIES: Pyxis #1

GENRE: YA Paranormal
SOURCE: E-ARC received from the author
LINKS: Goodreads | Book Depository

Two worlds... one 16-year-old girl must learn to protect them both. The nightmares haunting Corinne and her friend Mason hint at a universe that exists beyond the one they know. Her destiny is to protect a weakness between the two worlds, but her mentor is dead. As Corinne and Mason search for answers, she tries to ignore the sparks igniting between them, but can't deny she feels safe only when he's nearby. Will they find help before their nightmares break free?

This book has a great charm and the cover plays a big role in this. It's not just a beautiful image that you see, the cover has a certain kind of power that doesn't leave you indifferent and definitely catches your curiosity. And I think I can speak for everyone when I say that it's always amazing when you're so attracted to a book at first sight.

The story is interesting and original, the fact that human emotions can be manipulated by liquids of different colors with magic powers is fascinating, I just found too easy the way Corinne and her friends face the whole thing. They have questions and they constantly try to find out more that explains the situation in which they're stuck, but it seemed to me that their attitude was too superficial... Reading of teenagers acting like real ones (especially when they have to deal with love problems) has its ups and downs, it's good because it's more realistic, but it can be annoying for an adult... Anyway I have to say that under certain aspects it was a nice thing to read here, it was something in syntony with the writing style, fast, pleasurable and enjoyable.

I liked it, it was a nice reading for me (I love cliffhangers at the end of a book when I know it's gonna be a series) but I'm pretty sure younger readers will be thrilled with this book!
