"Second Grave on the Left" by Darynda Jones

SERIES: Charley Davidson #2

GENRE: Urban Fantasy
SOURCE: Publisher
LINKS: Goodreads | Book Depository

If you hang around with dead people, life can get pretty complicated. Take it from Charley Davidson, part-time PI and full-time grim reaper. The deceased find her very sparkly, and demons find her irresistible. However, Charley doesn't have time to dwell on this: she's got a missing woman to track down. Meanwhile, Reyes Alexander Farrow (otherwise known as the Son of Satan) is haunting Charley. He's left his corporeal body because he's being tortured by demons who want to lure Charley closer. But if the demons get to her, they'll have a portal to heaven. Can Charley handle hot nights with Reyes and even hotter days tracking down a missing woman? And can she keep those she loves out of harm's way?

Would you ever imagine falling in love with the Son of Satan? Me neither but still! Reyes is a charming, strong and powerful character who keeps leaving you with questions over questions simply because even if he gives you an answer, then you can be sure you will wonder about what he said. That and of course the permanent I-know-you-are-not-telling-all-I-need-to-know halo around him... So mysterious, so unbelievable sexy...

To be completely honest I like more than a character, surely not in the same way I like Reyes, but they're great just like every cases and our fave PI/grim reaper. In my review for the first instalment I said Charley's humour was her best characteristic, it was so refreshing that you find yourself totally addicted to it. Now that I read the second book let me rephrase everything in the proper way: the humour is the main reason you fall in love with the series and not laughing almost every page is practically impossible! I honestly think it's unique and a humour like that is a totally winning key.
