"The Duchess Hunt" by Jennifer Haymore

SERIES: House of Trent #1
GENRE: Historical Romance
SOURCE: Publisher
Simon Hawkins, Duke of Trent, is no stranger to scandal. Rumours and innuendo have darkened the House of Trent for decades, and it has fallen to Simon to restore his tattered family name. He lives by a strict code of honour, but when he is called home to investigate his mother's disappearance, the distinguished duke will tangle with temptation. For there waits the only woman he has ever lovedand the last woman he should desire... Sarah Osborne has spent her life dreaming of Simon's touch. But dukes do not long for ladies' maids—or so Sarah believes, until a stolen kiss sparks a passion that could be her ultimate undoing. As the couple begin a forbidden romance, a cunning enemy plots to destroy the duke and everything he loves. Now, caught in a blackmailer's web, Simon faces an agonising choice: sacrifice his family's future or break Sarah's heart.

A fascinating plot with a mystery to resolve, shocking news to discover during the process, secrets to be kept (or to be revealed?), a beautiful love story and amazing characters are what make this book one I deeply loved!

Sarah is one of the best historical romance heroines I could have hoped for. She's strong, genuine, altruistic and simply great. I really got emotionally involved because of her and Simon, they're both very realistic characters who can't help but drag you into their romance, making you feel its sweetness and passion altogether (you might find difficult not to smirk to some of their dialogues, too), while the whole plot takes you with such intensity that you live the story as you were actually there. Indeed, you totally feel like you're part of this gorgeous, intriguing family of the House of Trent.

Jennifer Haymore has brilliant writing skills that enchant your reading from the very beginning and then, when you reach the end, you literally beg for more... Romantic, hot, mysterious and utterly wonderful, "The Duchess Hunt" is a must read!
