"Best Laid Plans" by Kate Roth

SERIES: Desire Resort #2
GENRE: Contemporary/Erotic Romance
SOURCE: Author
LINKS: Goodreads

One formerly frigid head case. One sexy celeb. Their plan to spend one romantic week in paradise.
With a failed marriage behind him and more one night stands than he can count, the last thing Evan Weston expected was to find his dream girl at Desire Resort and Spa. When it’s clear to Evan that his last hook-up could be the best thing that ever happened to him, he’ll do whatever it takes to get the right answer to his question out of Danielle Ward. But it’s true what they say, the best laid plans often go awry…

This is the second part of the "Last Resort" novella that concludes Evan and Dani's story. I loved the fact that we get to read from where we have left them—wondering and asking for more—and see the couple trying to figure out what to do with their not-really-saw-it-coming connection.

The read was definitely hot and entertaining, but I have to confess that I felt like the events were a bit rushed, especially towards the last few chapters. It still worked for me because I had previously read "Many Times, Many Ways" (a Desire Resort novella part of Mistletoe Hollywood collection), so I was already aware of the path those two would choose and I knew more than this novella tells you. Anyway, if I didn't, it would have perhaps bothered me a bit more.

Overall, spending time with Evan is always pleasurable, and if you're up for a quick read that also happens to be hot, sweet and fun, I would suggest you to grab both Desire Resort novellas.

RATING: 3.5/5

I'm sorry this was a tiny bit disappointing, Silvia. I will remember to read the novella in Mistletoe & Hollywood before I read this one, lest I get upset over the outcome. :)

  2. I got this one last week after your review of the first in this series, Silvia. I hope I'll enjoy it even more than you did :)
Have a fantastic week and happy reading.

  3. Glad to see even though it was a tad rushed in a few chapters that it was enjoyable. :)

  4. It's always a but difficult when things are fast but in a whole it sounds like the last part of his story was interesting too.

  5. I agree about the combo, and Evan Weston certainly knows how to give us a good time ;)

  6. Overall, it was a fast, pleasurable read.
