Life of a Blogger: Scars

Life of a Blogger is a weekly feature hosted by Jessi @ Novel Heartbeat.
Every week we talk about a non-bookish topic, so that we get to know each other on a more personal level.

This week's topic: SCARS

I'm not sure there is a day that passes by without me bumping into something. I could easily find a bruise of some sorts to show you at any moment (a bit clumsy, Silvia?), but if we talk about scars, then I have two.

1. Under my right eyebrow. You have to be really close to see it because—fortunately—I have developed a kind of Snow White skin tone since I moved to UK, so the scar is well hidden now. Still, it's there and this is because: a) when I was a kid I slipped over the bubble blower and bumped into the bed (twice!!); b) I was jumping on my gramdma's bed (kids *snort*) and 'accidentally' fell, bumping on the bedside table's corner a mere millimeter away from blinding my right eye.

2. My right index finger. Ok, embrace yourselves for the impact. Ready? Here we go...I was four and—damn you Sleeping Beauty—I was curious to see what would have happened if I touched a spindle something prickly. What do you know, it turns out that if you put your finger on an electric grater and your grandma doesn't see you in time to stop herself from pushing the button, you get really hurt! . . . Jeez, huh? Tell me about it! I got stitches, my fingernail is bended almost in the middle and I have a pretty visible scar.

So that's me... Are you still there? If so, please feel free to share your 'battle scars' with me and/or leave a message to little Silvia who, I can assure you, has learnt her lesson!

I almost forgot about the one on your eyebrow! Great analogy with Sleeping Beauty, isn't it perfect?? :)

  3. Ouch, you accomplished every true Sleeping Beauty fan's odd dream: Prickling your finger! :S
I also have two scars. One's on my knee when I twisted my leg in a hole and I fell scraping my left knee badly (I was 14). The second one happened when I was like 2 years old I think, I fell backwards inside a well (wasn't deep) and I hurt my head. Thankfully my hair covers it up and it's not a big one. :)

  4. Ouch! An electric grater? The visual is very strong in my mind, and let me tell you, I don't like it one bit!
I'm glad you still have both your finger and your eye, Silvia!

Oh my! I don't have a scar that can compare to that last one, Silvia! I do have several scars on my knees and legs - just from being clumsy. Oh, and a bicycle accident when I was in 4th grade. :)
